Properties of the Choke&Inductor Program

Languages English, French, German, Italian and Spanish
Units Metric and USA units
Power range per phase at 50/60 Hz  0.1VAr...20kVAr per phase @ 50Hz
Frequency range 10Hz ...500kHz
Inductance range  0.001mH...1000H
Inductance type L=U1/I1/(2 x pi x f1)
L=U1/Irms/(2 x pi x f1)
L= U x T / Ipeak
L= (U x dT - I x dL)/dI
Thermal current Max. 8 harmonics ( included DC-component)
Wire & Foil Cu & Al- foil and round & flat wires, with 3 insulation grades
Steels Cold rolled, grain oriented, Ni-Fe alloys, ferrite, amorphous and powder
Bobbins Single section bobbin, tube or insulation  without flange, open and closed
The cores and bobbins & tubes, which do not exist in the core data pools, can be created by user.
Case Potted and not potted
Core assembly, number and position of gaps EI,UI,..., C-cores and modulus cores
Max 8 gaps per leg with 8 different position combinations
Cooling channels One cooling channel within the winding, only in the front and in the back of the winding and one cooling channel between the core and the winding.
Ventilation Max. 5m/sec
Impregnation Dry, one component varnish and 2 components varnish, under vacuum.
Chassis Wood, printed board, metal
Duty cycle operation mode Min. time 5 seconds, with 2 times and 2 loads
Criterion of the design: Q-Factor
or
Temperature rise in nominal and duty cycle operation: 10K ...250K
Induction Optimized in accordance with the temperature rise
Ambient temperature -100C ... 120C
Core families data pool EI, EE,..., UI, LL,..., 3PhEI, C-cores, EC, ETD, RM, PM, P, EFD, EPC, RS, DS, PQ,...
The cores and bobbins, which do not exist in the core data pools can be created by user.
Design mode In this mode the program designs in accordance with the input data.
Test and simulating mode In this mode the user can change manually the turns, wire size, thermal and peak current, gap size and position, frequency, duty cycle, steel,... and recalculate the choke.
Typical applications Motor filter choke
Commutation choke
Power factor correction choke
Smoothing choke
